Pencak Silat & Children
Pencak Silat is a indigenous to Indonesia and is closely associated with other martial arts of the region. This is because the the philosophies, religions and the arts of South East Asia are profoundly influenced by China and India.
Traditionally Silat has religious, energetic, shamanic, fighting (Silat) and performance (Pencak) aspects.
However, we draw on the exercises of Pencak Silat that children find enjoyable and contribute to developing agility, orientation, grounding and sensitivity.
