kids karateKarate is a Japanese (or more accurately Okinawan) system which The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat but the perfection of the character of the participants - Gichin Fanakoshifocuses on regimented sequences of movement that develop in complexity to kata (forms).

 

These sequences have highly evolved self defence applications (bunkai) which are generally taught at advanced levels of training.

 

We too use forms and find them of great benefit in developing proprioception (an awareness of the position of one's body), leadership skills and class discipline.
