Aikido & Children
Aikido traces its roots to various forms of Ju Jitsu so there are a number of similarities. The most important of these is the concept of non-resistance. In Judo and Ju Jitsu this is expressed by the saying "when pushed, pull; when pulled, push" and in Aikido "when pushed, turn; when pulled, enter". Both express the idea of non-resistance.
Another very important similarity that distinguishes both traditional Aikido and our classes from many other schools, is the understanding that a training partner is a friend whose cooperation needs to be cultivated to allow efficient and fun-filled learning.
